Petition Update
Thank you to all who have signed the e-petition against this proposal so far.
We are so grateful for your support and to know that so many people are standing together to help preserve our green belt and open spaces for future generations.
I have lived in Woodhatch for the last 21 years, with my husband and two sons. We have been so lucky to have been able to enjoy exploring New Pond Farm fields, picking blackberries, climbing the grass bales, growing vegetables on our allotment, and generally benefiting from being able to access the great outdoors close to our home. I feel strongly that the proposed crematorium is so wrong and we must do all we can to protect this area, encourage the wildlife, and secure access to the green belt and countryside for generations to come. This is just one of my main drivers for this campaign, there are multiple other impacts that are also significantly worrying, impact on the roads, increased congestion, environmental harm and impact to health the list could go on. A crematorium should not even have been contemplated on this site.
Thank you for supporting this campaign, we hope to achieve the best outcome possible.
Back to the petition - OUR TARGET IS TO REACH: 400 SIGNATORIES - please help us achieve this goal. Why? - Because:
Under Reigate and Banstead Borough Council's petition scheme, petitions with signatories of 400 or more qualify to be debated at a full council meeting.
Presenting our petition at a full council meeting will provide a valuable opportunity to further urge council members to fully scrutinise this proposed investment opportunity and it's potential detrimental impact, prior to proceeding with the formal planning process. Help us achieve this goal and urge the counsel to reject the proposal for a crematorium in Reigate, and to fully consult with local residents on any future proposals.
PLEASE READ AND SHARE THIS CAMPAIGN AND PETITION HELP US ACHIEVE 400 SIGNATORIES - THANK YOU.
